OPI to Release Minnie Mouse Collection

Set to be released in July of 2012, the Minnie Mouse Collection by OPI will include four new pink polishes, including a pink "confetti" polish and blah, blah, blah, blah...blah...

blah, blah, pink, blah blah...This not a very exciting release to say the very least.  The only interesting this about this line is that kick-ass display.  Now, that I'd pay good money for!  The way the stand spiral out like film that's spooling off of its reel.  It's beautiful.

Glitter In My Stocking fom Nicole by OPI

Glitter In My Stocking from Nicole by OPI was the nail polish that I so badly wanted to wear on Christmas Day this year but as you can observe from the photo, you can see why it didn't turn out that way.  Glitter polishes are not really my thing.  The look is not my favourite (I find it looks childish but that's just me) and I hate the gritty texture, so I was excited that I found a glitter polish that I loved the look of.  It made me think of the decorations on my tree so what was there not to like about that?  The yellow gold with the sprinkling of red and silver drew me in but I forgot what a pain in the butt wearing glitter polish without a durable topcoat actually is.  After a few hours and a couple of chores, I had a huge amount of chips in the polish and no amount of reapplication would solve the problem.  Bummer!...It's so sparkly!

Meep-Meep-Meep by OPI

It looks like OPI's Meep-Meep-Meep from the Muppets collection is another colour that doesn't match its promo description as far as my eye can see.  Calling this polish a "fuchsia" doesn't jive with me.  Photographing as more of a berry colour and looking more like a red to my actual eye, MMM is still a pretty polish and is the shimmering sister of Wocka Wocka!  I actually like this better than Wocka Wocka because it has a bit more pizazz to it but I wouldn't call it a unique snowflake.  I was happy with its quick dry time and had no issues with the application or formula, so I'm thinking that the lesser quality of my recent OPI purchases was just some sort of temporary glitch.  It's not a waste of money but it's not a must have either.

Rally Pretty Pink By OPI

I've made no secret of my dislike of the crackle trend that's been dominating the polish world for the last few months.  It seems as if every company and it's mother have released some kind of variation of crackle polish, invading salons and drugstores and making me wonder if it will ever go away.  I also didn't like was how the Serena Williams polishes from OPI are packaged with a more traditional polish finish and paired with a shatter polish that I didn't really want (but if I showed patience, I could have waited until a retailer removed the pairs from their boxes in order to sell them separately).  Well, for the sake of review purposes, I didn't wait to pick up the Rally Pretty Pink set with Red Shatter.  And to my surprise, I don't hate it!  Let's take a look at RPP without the shatter top coat:
It's a lovely golden, glass flecked finish, but it's awfully similar to Zoya's Faye from Zoya's Sunshine Collection, with the difference of Faye being more pigmented and looking more purple than pink.  You can see visible nail lines but once you apply the shatter top coat, it's not noticeable. Application was good, no stray lint in the bottles, good dry time but applying the shatter top coat is still a little tricky since it dries very quickly. So despite my shatter fatigue, I did like this colour combination quite a bit, even though from a distance, you might look like you're back from an extended stay at Buffalo Bill's Nails & Spa:

It rubs the lotion on its skin.  It does this whenever it is told.
Well, OK but I've been waiting over and hour for my manicure.  Could you send down some Red Shatter?
That's funny, that's the same polish the last girl asked for....
SO TRENDY!!! AAAAAHHHHHHAAA!!!!
Goodbye Horses!!!

Nicole By OPI's Kardashian Kolors Spells Class With a "K"...

...Crap can also start with "K" if one follows that logic.  This post marks the first and last time you will ever see the word "Kardashian" mentioned on this blog as Nicole by OPI's Holiday Collection 2011 is a Kraptastic Kross brand, just in time for "Kristmas" with America's most overrated (and in my opinion...useless) family.  The "Kolors" look acceptable enough, but there's no way I'm giving my money to these people, not even if it was for charity.  The most positive thing I can say about this line is that there doesn't appear to have any "Krackles" in it.   I guess I'm showing my age by saying that in my day, when you said "she spells class with a k", you were delivering a tremendous insult and not a "kompliment".  Frankly, all of this poor spelling reminds me of my favourite stupid joke.."Bad Spellers of the World...Untie!"
